Tulbagh wine region

It might not make sense to us that the Wine and Spirit Board considers Tulbagh as part of the Coastal region, given how far inland it is, but be that as it may. The area has undergone a renaissance, with better wines than yesteryear from a number of new cellars.

Breedekloof and Worcester wine regions

From Du Toitskloof, Goudini and Rawsonville in the south to Romansrivier in the north, Breedekloof encompasses the Slanghoek Valley route of Jason’s Hill, Slanghoek, Opstal and Mountain Oaks before continuing up the R43 from Botha, taking in Waboomsrivier, Bergsig and Lateganskop en route to Mountain Ridge to the south of Wolseley. Registered estates include Bergsig, Deetlefs, Du Preez, Opstal and Rico Suter. Cederberg wine ward and Citrusdal wine region

Olifants River wine region

The northern-most wine region in the Western Cape, Olifants River stretches from Koekenaap, Lutzville and Matzikama (outside Vanrhynsdorp on the N7) to Piekenierskloof and Citrusdal in the south. 9 861 hectares of vineyard – 10% of the national total – and where some of the biggest wineries in South Africa such as Vredendal and Lutzville are to be found.
