Welcome to the 2012 edition of the Best Value Wine Guide. Get ready to put a smile on that face because we know you are going to be pleased with what we have for you!

No fewer than 49 wines were recognised with Value Awards this year, making them outstanding value for money, while 111 were rated 3 Stars (‘good’), 27 scored 3½ Stars (‘very good’) and an astonishing nine scored 4 Stars (‘excellent, wines of distinction’). As panel chairman Christine Rudman remarked: “Wines at considerably higher prices than R60 would be honoured to get that score.”

The Best Value Awards Lunch was held on the 24th of October at the Pearl Valley Gold Estate. All award winning wines were laid out for tasting by guests at their leisure. We salute those who were able to taste the whole array of wines on offer!

We would not only like to congratulate all the Award winners but also all the wineries and wine makers who produced the wines featuring in this year’s guide. We can’t wait to enjoy every single one!
