What was the first bottle of wine that all made sense and why?
Hermit on the Hill... I had never liked red wine before but this stuff made me really happy and I bought a few cases of it.

What was your most memorable wine experience?
Breaking open my lip and breaking my front tooth after a couple of Château Libertas's in Camps Bay... I jumped off a moving vehicle.

What was the last wine that you bought?
Haute Cabrière Pinot Noir.

How big is your wine collection and where do you store it?
Non-existent really.

Which are your favourite South African wine producers?
Haute Cabrière is great, so is Thelema.

What do you like least about wine?
That red wine can stain your teeth sometimes, and the feeling of heaviness that can come the day after.

What wine that you have not yet tasted do you most want to?
Anything reported to be delicious...

What is your favourite meal?
Any Indian curry.

What are your favourite restaurants in South Africa?
I don't really eat out much...

Which three people would you invite to your fantasy dinner party?
Douglas Adams, Stephen Fry and Ella Fitzgerald.

What is your current state of mind?
Utah.

What is your most treasured possession?
My sense of humour.

What is your greatest extravagance?
Insisting on my personal time.

How do you relax?
I lie down and read a book or go to the beach my myself.

Rohinton Mistry, Iain Banks, Zadie Smith.

Who are your favourite musicians?
Peter Tosh, Dolly Parton, Gregory Isaacs,Chris Isaak.

Where did you spend your last holiday?
New York, for Barack Obama's inauguration.

What is your favourite city in the world and why?
Tenacity: it got me where I am today.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
