Theatrical dining at the cellars Hohenhort

The Greenhouse, the award-winning restaurant at the five-star Relais & Chateaux hotel The Cellars Hohenhort in Constantia, has moved location, now occupying a renovated space in what used to be The Cape Malay restaurant on the same property. The Greenhouse's new home was given a face-lift with a design featuring a Victorian greenhouse and will act as an intimate 45-seater fine-dining restaurant, while the previous space will be converted into The Conservatory where diners can enjoy classy bistro fare.

The Cape Malay restaurant now moves to the cellar downstairs for intimate dinners. A sneak preview into The Greenhouse's tasting menu revealed a playful take on fine dining with executive chef Peter Tempelhoff daring diners to think out of the box with a menu themed ‘Imagine'.

Think liquid nitrogen-powdered sauce, smoked ostrich served in its egg and foraging through your plate for artichoke bark and wild mushrooms - Tempelhoff 's creations force the diner to be intimately involved with the dining experience at a delectable level. Tel 021 794 2137.
