Winemaker and author Christine Hanna, of Hanna Winery in California, has penned a cookbook with recipes that are both functional and inspiring.
Stemming from her personal repertoire gathered from entertaining dinner parties and wine clubs, each recipe includes wine pairings, based on Hanna’s experience as a winemaker. Mediterranean flavours infuse much of her cooking, a tribute to her Syrian heritage and her father Elias, who founded Hanna in 1985.
The book is divided into seasons and suggests menus for a host of occasions – everything from a fun pizza party and a harvest picnic in the vineyards to a Mediterranean-style Thanksgiving.
In ‘ask the winemaker’ boxes, Hanna answers a host of wine-related questions, which although basic, are relevant to entertaining (for instance how to identify a corked wine).
