The True Utility Twistick

Published: 17 Jun 11

WHY DIDN’T I THINK OF THAT?

Let’s face it, even the most ardent wine-drinker has had to deal with the uncomfortable situation of having a bottle of wine but no way of opening it. Sure, there are numerous videos online suggesting ways to bypass this scenario (see YouTube.com) but ultimately you want a more ‘trusted’ back-up... In this case, this latest invention is perfect in many, but not all, ways. Here is a corkscrew slim and light enough to add to your keyring. How it works: a screw and small rod are cleverly intertwined; simply loosen the utensil from your keyring, separate the two parts, insert the rod through the ‘screw’ and voila, you are ready to impress your friends. Notwithstanding its practicality, this is perhaps a utensil more suitable for male counterparts as some muscle is needed to lift the cork out of the bottle with this gizmo... But a very cool, handy invention indeed.
