SAA 2006 Onboard Wine Listing

The 19th annual SAA Onboard Wine Listing Awards were announced recently. Trophies went to the following wines:

Red Wine Trophy: Anura Reserve Syrah Mouvedre 2003
White Wine Trophy: Kumkani Lanner Hill Sauvignon Blanc 2005
Port Trophy: De Krans Cape Tawny Port
Méthode Cap Classique Trophy: JC Le Roux Scintilla 2001
SAA CEO Trophy (for most wines listed): Cloof
SAA Chairman’s Award (for highest volume sold to SAA ): Boland Kelder

A panel of 12 local and international experts wine judges selected the winning wines out of 1060 entries.

Local judges included Dave Hughes, Colin Frith, Cathy Marshall, Jo-Ann Mettler, Mzokhona Mvemve and Yegas Naidoo.

International judges included John Avery (United Kingdom), Eduardo Chadwick (Chile), Bengt Kronstam (Sweden), Kym Milne (Australia), Lynne Sheriff (United Kingdom) and Jean Trimbach (France).
