WHY? Because this wine farm with its elegant Cape Dutch buildings, willow-shaded lakes and vineyards provides a beautiful setting, and also offers a choice of venues for ceremonies and receptions. You might want to say ‘I do' in the Ribbok, a romantic and private gazebo area overlooking the garden and lake, with outdoor seating for 120 guests, before a celebration at the Victorian Restaurant or in the Rhebok, a large free form tent next to the wine cellar. Seating up to 300 people, it also has a dance floor. Catering is in-house only, but expect a range of options and food that is fresh and modern. Rhebokskloof wines only are allowed.

WE THINK... that it's a wonderful and reasonably priced setting for a marquee in the garden.

Sand at the Plettenberg

Full flaps - splashdown! And yet another large seagull joined the flock of 10 or so bobbing in The Plettenberg's rim-flow pool overlooked by diners in the Sand restaurant.
