Gyles Webb behind Clouds Sauvignon Blanc 2003

The maiden vintage Clouds Sauvignon Blanc 2003 is a single vineyard wine from the northern slopes of the Helshoogte Pass, the premier wine growing area between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.

This boutique wine farm of 4,5 hectares, of which a mere 2,5 hectares are planted with Sauvignon Blanc, is managed and cared for by Thelema Estate.

When businessman Bernard Immelman bought the property in 1992, he approached Gyles Webb of Thelema to produce a small quantity of wine under the Clouds label.

The wine was fermented cold and bottled early to give a delightfully crisp and fruity character. Only 6000 bottles have been produced. The wine sells for R39,90 per bottle ex-cellar.

Capitalising on the spectacular views from the farm, the Immelmans also offer accommodation in the form of four cottages.
