New district declared

Darling no longer part of Swartland
Darling, on the West Coast, was recently declared a District in the South African Wine of Origin appellation system.
Groote Post, for instance, formerly fell under the Swartland district but is now designated as occurring in Darling. Nick Pentz, co-owner of this particular winery, commented that he fully supports the step, as he feels Darling more accurately reflects the locality of their unique vineyards, than the much larger Swartland district into which they were formerly grouped.
