A sliver of contemporary style on the otherwise grungy (but always buzzing) Long Street. Traditional wada (deep-fried lentil doughnuts) compete for attention with more contemporary, witty adaptations like the ‘masalad’ (salad topped with crunchy, spicy sensations). For main courses the masala dosa (South Indian rice flour pancakes) come to the table on colourful melamine trays complete with your choice of filling (vegetable, chicken or beef) and aromatic sambar broth for dipping your dosa. Adventurous chocoholics rave about the chocolate-filled dosa with its finger-licking-good sweet coconut sauce. This is definitely the wittiest Indian restaurant in town – there are what at first glance appear to be Bollywood posters on the walls, but when you look closely the hero in each ‘film’ has the face of the chef-patron Amit Raz.
