Mandela statue unveiled

Published: 01 Nov 08

A statue of Nelson Mandela was recently unveiled at Drakenstein Prison near Franschhoek.

Dieter Sellmeyer of Lynx Wines, who planted the idea of this statue with Tokyo Sexwale of Mvelaphanda Holdings, and clinched it over a glass of Graham Beck bubbly, is pleased that visitors will now be able to have their pictures taken with a more aesthetically pleasing striding Mandela in the background, as opposed to the old correctional services signs.
