This is not an innovative, chic, modern Italian eatery in the mode of 95 Keerom but rather the place to go when the world seems harsh and you need family-style trattoria tenderness. It will remind you of the Italian restaurants you went to as a child and sometimes that is exactly what you need. Portions are substantial and produced with care and authenticity. All the usual suspects are on the menu: Caprese, Carpaccio, calamari salad, pizzas and a seemingly endless supply of home made perfectly al dente pastas. Amidst the classics there are some surprising retro-chic Francophone offerings – when was the last time you saw sole Colbert? The kitchen uses good olive oil and classic recipes, so while it will seldom widen your gastronomic horizons, it is never a bad choice for a relaxing supper.
