South Indian dishes beguile the tastebuds at this first-floor terraced venue. Situated on the busy Musgrave Road, it is an ideal – if noisy – place to watch the world go by. Savour the light, paper-thin dosa rice flour pancakes stuffed with cumin infused potatoes. The tandoor naan breads are excellent for mopping up okra curry. Chettinad mutton curry and prawns cooked in a kadai wok are beg-for-more wonderful. Be warned: the 150-item menu is peppered with “Indo-Chinese” items, fiery adaptations not true to either cuisine. Fragrant kulfi ice cream, sooji semolina pudding and gulab jamun doughnuts make for sweet-toothed temptations and soothing palate coolers.
