This unpretentious homage to cheese is situated in a 200-year-old barn which now serves as a restaurant. Owner Derk Blaisse is passionate and loquacious about his love of all things dairy. Those who don’t like cheese should stay away while the rest flock for twice-baked Gruyère soufflés accompanied by a piquant red pepper sabayon, blue cheese tartlets with caramelised onion and epic cheese platters piled high with preserves. Do not leave without sampling at least one slice of the ginger biscuit-crusted baked cheese cake. The skill of the wine-and-cheese pairing suggestions is unsurpassed in South Africa.
