Jean Daneel Wines

JEAN DANEEL WINES ALIVE AND WELL

"Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated," Mark Twain responded after reading his obituary in the NY Times. This quote is being widely applied in the winelands following reports of various wineries closing down, one being Jean Daneel. At this year's Nederburg Auction, Jean Daneel of Jean Daneel Wines vehemently denied that he is closing cellar operations in Napier.

"I don't know where the rumour comes from, but it is certainly not true," he said, adding that the day he stops making wine will be the day he dies.
