Heading down 9th Avenue

Published: 01 Jan 11

This husband-and-wife-run 9th Avenue restaurant in Durban showcases some great modern interpretations of bistro classics. The menu is constantly changing and so the owner-chef Graham Neilson encourages guests to try the six-course menu (R250pp) and taste a bit of everything. The emphasis is on high-quality, seasonal ingredients with dishes that deliver on flavour.

If you don’t go the whole hog and try everything, opt for the two- or three-course menu that includes the likes of wild mushroom and leek feuilleté and the decadent chocolate torte with white chocolate ice cream, bittersweet chocolate sauce, shaved chocolate and orange essence.
