WHY? Because this Russian-owned wine estate is geared up for weddings large and small, and offers plenty of attractive winelands scenery with some interesting additional elements such as its museum with its precious collection of icons and Faberge eggs. The venue can be booked for a half or full day, with ceremonies in the aforementioned Marvol Museum of Russian Art (up to 90 people) or in front of the historic Manor House, while receptions can be held in the Hermitage Restaurant (up to 130 people with dancing) or in a marquee on the lawn (up to 300). Packages afford a range of options. Catering by the resident chef and team can involve anything from a breakfast to a picnic to a smart dinner. Hazendal's substantial selection of wines is exclusively available, as well as their White Nights Cap Classique, but other sparkling wines may be brought in with a corkage fee charged per bottle. There's a Beckstein piano for the musically inclined.

WE THINK...
it's a wonderful spot to consider for an intimate winter wedding; not only does the Russian theme inspire thoughts of wrapping up in luxuriant style, but warming fireplaces create a delicious ambience.
