WHY? Because this Cape Dutch country retreat on the wine farm, Matjieskuil, oozes (5 Star) country charm, from the antique-filled guest house to the serene setting among vineyards - and there are dogs, horses, cows and other animals to add to the ambience. The beautiful wine cellar seats 80 people comfortably while a marquee on the lawn can accommodate up to 150 guests. The scenery means no shortage of wonderful photography moments. To host a wedding at Hawksmoor House, the entire guest house including all eight bedrooms needs to be hired for two nights (three if a marquee needs to be set up). You will however have to work exclusively with wedding management company Wedding Concepts to arrange the celebrations. But with absolute freedom with catering and décor, anything is possible and you'll be able to create your dream wedding.

WE THINK... it will be worth the wait of up to a year for your wedding in this quirky country setting; to keep them special, Hawksmoor House only allows one per month. The "blue barn" is one of the Cape's best kept secret venues.
