WHY? Because chef-patron Matthew Gordon's renowned restaurant shares its remarkable setting on the Franschhoek Pass with the wine estate famous for its Pierre Jourdan Method Cap Classique, so there's no shortage of good food, bubbly and gobsmacking views to add to the sense of occasion, whether it's a lunch or dinner affair. Throw in the subterranean maturation cellar with its rows of French oak barrels and cathedral like arches (along with optional red carpet) for an atmospheric ceremony (up to 90 guests) like none other. The cavernous restaurant with its stone walls can seat up to 110 guests with dance floor, but for weddings larger than 80 people, additional hiring costs may apply. You'll be able to choose from a range of set menus, but only Haute Cabrière wines and Pierre Jourdan sparkling wines may be served.
WE THINK.... what could be better for a stylish winter wedding than a cosy cellar setting that lets you play with romantic candle lighting.
