Espresso Lab Microroasters

GET YOUR FIX

Speciality coffee roastery Espresso Lab Microroasters at The Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock, Cape Town, has a loyal following of caffeine junkies that flock to try out new coffees sourced from farms, estates and co-operatives from around the world.

The roastery works on the premise that no two palates are the same and encourages debate to find better ways to extract the best out of each cup. The team regularly changes the selection on offer so that coffee-drinkers are able to experiment with new varieties.

Now Espresso Lab is selling its coffees in select delis and speciality stores. We bought a 250g bag of La Esperanza Boquete, Panama from Stark-Condé wine estate for R56. With tasting notes reading, “Spicy aroma, full bodied, medium acidity, dark chocolate, stone fruit, cedar, orange and dried fig flavours” you’d think it was a wine!
