Durbanville wine region
“Tygerberg” is better known as the name of the hills south of the Durbanville ward, and of the road winding from the M14 and Bothasig in the west, past Killarney Industrial and Durbanville Hills, Hillcrest, Nitida and Bloemendal to Altydgedacht in the east, west of the Durbanville Race Course. De Grendel is south of these cellars on the M14, with Meerendal and Diemersdal north of the main route, on the M48 and R304 respectively.
The Durbanville cellars produce a wide range of good wines, although the area is among the country’s front-runners when it comes to Sauvignon Blanc in particular.
To get to the Philadelphia cellars of Capaia and Havana Hills, take the Van Schoorsdrift or Botterberg roads from the N7.
