Deli Su Casa

Published: 01 Mar 11

DELI WITH HOMELY TIES

The name of this new Johannesburg restaurant means ‘your home’ in Portuguese, and Deli Su Casa owners Murray and Mandy Price attract willing customers from Fourways and surrounds. Murray’s background is in manufacturing Mediterranean retail products, so a personalised deli and upmarket coffee shop is a natural fit. “It’s owner-run and managed; we make and create new dishes all the time,” he explains of the industrial space with wood cladding and recycled wood furniture. From berries and flapjacks on the breakfast menu to an asparagus and artichoke quiche for lunch, Deli Su Casa’s vibrant food is always freshly prepared. Signatures include a crumbed brie and onion marmalade starter, Jewish potato latke with a trio of toppings, and roasted lamb strips in Neapolitan sauce. There is also a small wine list. Order an Origin coffee with the delicious chocolate or mango cheesecakes baked on site. Wanting something to go? Select from the glass counter of meats, cheeses, tzatziki and fishcakes.
