Chef-patronne Vani Moodley serves homely Durban style curries made fresh daily. She says: “I’m not like those other Indian restaurants that just add something to gravy and serve it up like that.” She has a no-nonsense relationship with the chilli jar. The lamb curry heats the mouth in an instant, leaving a spicy zing long after the tender meat is gone. The yellow lentil dhal is velvety and finished with fresh coriander. The chickpea curry will impress even the most ardent meat eater and the prawn curry is a Durban classic deluxe. Chef Moodley says that she has been cooking curries for 16 years – as long as she’s been married – and her experience shows. Her touch is deft, incendiary but discerning. Mr Moodley is a lucky man.

" Thanks to all my special patrons you know who are.Curry Quest as the name suggest is the Quest for Good Durban curry in Cape Town. As you know that we don't advertise and thrive on the good vibes you send out when you eat our curries. There is the odd exception where you get an unhappy customer, lets hope that they are not being too critical but instead keeping us honest.Curry Quest celebrated its sixth birthday on 05/11/2010......back to the stove ta ta "

" DURBAN IN CAPE TOWN...that is the ambience my wife and I experienced at our first visit to Curry Quest. Wonder if it's a co-incidence the restaurant is situated in Durban Road??? The food was divine, prepared in authentic South African Indian tradition with all the flavours and aromas you can expect from your Grandmother's kitchen right here in Kevin & Vani's original Indian restaurant. The Butter Chicken, Mutton Curry, Mince Kebabs and Roti were divine with distinctive Durban spices including the home grown coriander and chilli. If the Harley Bikers can't stop ranting about the great food, what are you waiting for? Don't miss out...treat yourself to a sumptious meal today. We highly recommend this place - MAG-ren. "
