Cullinan Awards 2002

A panel of Cape Wine Masters judged 10 wines worthy of gold medals at the Juliet Cullinan Cape Wine Masters Awards held at the Westcliff Hotel in Johannesburg in July.

Introduced in 2000 to highlight the best wines at the annual Juliet Cullinan Festival, the wines are tasted blind by an expert panel comprising Cape Wine Masters Margaret Barker, Marilyn Cooper, Margaret Fry, Val Kartsounis, Elsie Pells and Cathy White.

Awarded gold medals were: Stellenbosch Vineyards Genesis Chardonnay 2001, Jordan Chardonnay 2001, Cape Point Sauvignon Blanc 2001, Woolworths’ Ken Forrester Chenin Blanc 2001, Morgenhof Merlot 1999, Le Riche Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2000, Altydgedacht Pinotage 1999, Simonsig Frans Malan 1998, Stellenzicht Syrah 1999 and Die Krans Vintage Reserve 1999.
