WHY? Because this picture-pretty Constantia wine estate offers excellent cuisine, fine wine and enchanting settings at several different venues. Constantia Uitsig Restaurant with its Mediterranean influenced cuisine can accommodate from 80 to 120 guests, while Eat Out Restaurant of the Year for 2008, La Colombe, offers French-Asian fine dining, and, during summer, can fit up to 100 guests in a romantic courtyard. There are also private rooms available for more intimate celebrations. The River Café offers a more casual alternative for 80 guests outside and 40 inside, with the option of a dance floor. No additional hiring fee is required for exclusive use of La Colombe and Constantia Uitsig, but should you wish to have dancing at either of the venues, it is subject to all 16 rooms in the luxurious Constantia Uitsig Hotel being booked for up to two nights, depending on the season (included in the wedding package is a complimentary night's accommodation for the bridal couple). Wines to be chosen from the extensive restaurant lists, while a discount is offered on Constantia Uitsig wines.
WE THINK.... if budget allows, a marquee-style wedding on the grassed Vineyard Terrace overlooking the historic cricket pitch is the epitome of the classic Wine & Horse country setting.
