Published: 21 Feb 11

NECESSARY EVIL

Wine magazine team members are selfconfessed coffee addicts, so we were thrilled when we came across the Coffee Roasting Co’s Cardinal Sins blend. The roastery on Lourensford Wine Estate produces 22 types of coffee and Cardinal Sins, made from 100% Arabic coffee and one of the strongest in the range, is perfect for espresso.

Tastings of the coffee are conducted next to the Lourensford tasting room just outside Somerset West. Here one is also able to watch the roasting process and find out more about the nuances of coffee from the knowledgeable staff.

Cardinal Sins retails for R55 for a 250g pouch from the roastery. Tel 021 847 0536; www.coffeeco.co.za
