Cocktails at Avontuur Wine Estate

Published: 17 Nov 09

Cocktails with a dash of Pinot Noir?

Patrons can now enjoy cocktails with a twist at Avontuur Wine Estate's restaurant. Instead of spirits, the cocktails are wine based.

Try the Avontuur Mojito with mint, lime, rose petal infusion and a dollop of the lightly wooded Chardonnay and Pinot Noir blend. Or the Bellini-tini with Avontuur Sauvignon Blanc and white peach puree. Other "winetails" include the Vanilla and Berry Martini with Klein Avontuur unwooded red or the Orchard Breeze with pressed apple and Avontuur Sauvignon Blanc.

While the combinations might sound daring, WINE magazine can vouch for them being "surprisingly nice". Cost is R25 per drink, served during the restaurant's trading hours: lunch daily with dinner options available on Wednesdays and Fridays.
