Cape winelands cuisine

CAPE CURRY

After doing extensive research into Cape cuisine, going back to the time of Jan van Riebeeck, La Motte wine estate near Franschhoek developed what it likes to call ‘Cape winelands cuisine’.

Curry was, and still is, an integral part of Cape cuisine, so the team behind the estate’s Pierneef restaurant has appropriately created three curry spice blends, for meat, chicken and fish, each based on age-old recipes, but adapted for the modern cook. These curry powders are all available for purchase at the farm shop – our favourite being the fish curry spice mixture. The curry blends are sold from La Motte deli for R40 per 85g box.
