Café @ The Jailhouse

Published: 16 Nov 09

Go directly to jail

Elgin has a new daytime eating option in the renovated former jailhouse. Café @ The Jailhouse (Tel 071 563 6020) shares space with a second-hand bookshop and antique store.

Joan Lancefield's breakfast, creative lunches - from spicy chicken salad to corn cakes with chunky tomato salsa - and fresh bakes are deliciously more-ish, with catering sister Liz Wood also involved.

Open weekdays until 4.30pm. Follow signs from Grabouw towards Elgin Country Club.
