Bully for Boela

Published: 26 May 08

Chardonnay du Monde 2008

At this year’s Chardonnay du Monde held in Burgundy, France, 953 wines from 39 countries were evaluated by 300 international judges.

A total of 60 wines were awarded gold medals, including Groot Constantia’s Gouverneurs Chardonnay 2006 – the only South African wine to perform so well. This wine, made by Boela Gerber, received an additional accolade by being included among the judges’ list of the top 10 Chardonnays overall.

It received a rating of 3½ Stars in the November 2007 issue of WINE magazine but is unfortunately sold out from the farm.
