WHY? Because this popular and very historical wine farm, established in 1685, offers the use of its oak shaded lawns and pretty pavilion, as depicted on the label of its Pavilion range of wines, for ceremonies (there's also a small, Sir Herbert Baker-designed stone church nearby) as well as receptions. Boschendal is quite famous for its Le Pique-Nique, so relaxed alfresco lunches or pre-packed picnics in summer (for up to 300) are a great option. Receptions for up to 120 guests can also be held at Boschendal Restaurant, which serves a hearty South African-style buffet. There's scenery aplenty, such as in the Rose Garden or around the Manor House, for those evocative pictures. Boschendal is fully licensed and only wines from the estate may be purchased.
WE THINK... with casual lunch weddings growing in popularity, Boschendal's outdoor areas make a refreshing change, especially with some imaginative decor features brought in. Think comfortable ottomans and cushions for lounging on.
