Bain's Cape Mountain Whisky

Published: 28 Aug 09

Locally brewed, it just tastes better

Bain's has introduced the first locally produced single grain whisky in South Africa.

Bain's Cape Mountain Whisky, produced by Andy Watts at the James Sedgwick Distillery in Wellington, it is made exclusively from local grain, in keeping with the increased awareness of the impact of origin on a range of beverages. Watts says the whisky "shows an exceptional interaction between spirit and wood to produce a mix of toffee, floral and vanilla aromas and flavours with a hint of spice softened by sweet undertones". Bain's Cape Mountain Whisky will retail for approximately R153.

export! it will beat jack daniels (similar but smoother all my tasters say) everywhere. "

" Perfect mix between a Bourbon and Scotch. The corn (?) gives a caramel aroma - Very nice easy drinking wiskey. I agree with the price - Better @ R 110 "

" After being very skeptical about a SA-whiskey and on top of that a very brand-conscious whiskey drinker, I bought a bottle of Bain's this week and was pleasantly surprised! Well done Andy! "
