Everybody's talking up Terra Madre Pommes Classique, an Elgin MCC cider, of which the 2008 vintage produced 6 000 bottles. Former Jozi chef Nicole Precoudis (of Cilantro and Icon restaurant) and business partner Ian Downie take a handcrafted approach.

 

The delicious, dry drink bottle-fermented from a few Elgin apple varieties has only 9% alcohol. Tel 082 906 7600.
