WHY? Because a country wedding doesn't get more romantic than exchanging vows in fields of lavender against a backdrop of Cape Dutch architecture, vineyards and mountains. This lovely, 300-year-old wine estate with its sprawling meadows and velvety lawns can take groups of 20 right up to 250, with a choice or in- and outdoor venues, such as a freeform tent set around an old olive tree. They're truly geared up for weddings, offering the optional services of in-house coordinators, caterers (the head chef will discuss choices along with food tastings) and just about everything else needed to make the event a success. Its versatility and flexibility (you won't be chased out before you're ready for the last dance) make it a popular choice.
The estate is fully licensed and corkage is charged for non Allée Bleue wines and bubbly. The package can also include accommodation for the bridal couple in the pretty cottage on the estate, which is also ideal for the bridal retinue to dress ahead of the festivities.
WE THINK... the lavender fields are just about the most beautiful ceremony setting imaginable. The courtyard is perfect for an outdoor reception with the protection of a tent.
