8 places to seduce your love
There’s less than five days to go before Valentine’s Day. So, if you haven’t yet made plans to treat your loved one to something special, you better get cracking! The Wine team found some Valentine’s specials that would have us weak at the knees – everything from an 11-course Titanic-themed dinner to a concert under the stars.
GAUTENG
Relive the romance of the Titantic
Le Canard in Sandton hosts the ninth annual ‘Last Dinner On The Titanic’ on Sunday 13 and Monday 14 February 2011; evenings of total indulgence featuring cuisine inspired by the king of chefs Auguste Escoffier.
Le Canard will recreate Titanic’s impressive eleven-course menu served on the final night of the ill-fated voyage. From research and to keep with the theme, the restaurant will transform itself to resemble the splendour of the Titanic, complete with candelabra and an array of pink and white flowers.
Diners come dressed in black tie (period costume is optional fun) and the cost is R720 per person (all inclusive of menu, entertainment, wines, gratuities and gifts).
